New Shoes

New Shoes

Sometimes, all it takes is a set of new shoes and you feel like a completely different person — or car.

Eric’s Z4M is getting ready for the final stages of the setup, and since the ADV.10 TRAKfunctions are just crying from their boxes, we figured we’d slap some new shoes on them and get them ready for some test fitment. The wheel and tire combination is going to be perfect for both the street and track, as the wheels aren’t heavy and the tires are purpose-built for that sort of hoonage.

Eric decided to wrap his new wheels in some serious rubber — Michelin Pilot Super Sports, to be exact. With a treadwear rating of 300 and some incredible levels of grip, these tires are well worth the cost.

So we set about putting the tires on the wheels, as one is wont to do when wheels and tires are hanging out separately.

With zero tire stretch and a decent amount of sidewall, the ride won’t be total crap at any point, and Eric will be able to switch between relaxed and spirited driving without any worry over the sidewalls.

Test fitment, electronics and the tune are all that stand between us and a very sick Z4M. Get excited!

Also, don’t forget, tomorrow is Motor Union! If you haven’t signed up yet, do so in advance and bypass the $10 gate fee at Autobahn. There are going to be kart events, a raffle, and some seriously awesome cars on the track and in the show. Everything from Mk. 3 Supras to R8s. Get excited. And don’t forget — we’re closed tomorrow, August 19th, since we’ll all be there.
