06 Jun Supercar Saturdays – June 2011
First Saturday of the month? No rain? Then it’s Supercar Saturdays time!
As always, Fluid MotorUnion headed over to Supercar Saturdays at the Arboretum of South Barrington. There’s always a unique collection of cars amongst the shuffle, so there’s always an interesting target for the FMU camera. Without further ado, let’s get into it.
The crowd was a bit more integrated this time around, as many more cars showed up and not all brands could stick together. Normally, when you see an Italian, German and Englishman in the same room, it’s a setup for a long-winded joke. Not here.
Somehow, the Porsches always manage to end up next to one another, although this was maybe 25% of the total Porsche crowd in attendance.
Three NSXs in a row. The middle’s license plate is comedic gold.
DeTomaso Pantera. Not everyday you’ll see a DeTomaso on the road.
Later in the meet, cars were finally able to arrange themselves next to their brethren. The Cobra reps were in attendance, as always:
And there was a Countach, too! Aside from yours truly, this was probably the best thing to come out of the 1980s.
And to keep the vintage theme alive, a beautifully restored Jaguar E-Type made its way into the parking lot.
The wheel fitment on this G was outstanding. Look at that rear lip:
And the always-at-SCS purple Diablo made its appearance.
I wonder how much it took to score this license plate. It couldn’t have been easy…
The Lambo twins showed up, as well. This pair of Murcielagos never forgets about SCS.
There was no other way to park this behemoth. To park it correctly wouldn’t do it justice.
Yes, this is a Mk I GT40. Real? Not sure. Awesome? Natch.
And finally, this 458 Italia rolled down the main drag, looking sexy as hell.
Get excited for next month’s SCS! We’ve got some stuff in the works.
