Out With The Old, In With The New

Out With The Old, In With The New

For most people, the week after Christmas begins with the slow, steady removal of holiday-themed decorations strewn about the house. Keller took this idea to a different level.

This morning, our esteemed technician Keller took it upon himself to start rearranging the service garage’s components, like desks, laptops, coolant and oil drums, and a few other things. And it was certainly a post-holiday surprise for everybody else, since Keller managed to do most of the work himself, before the rest of the party arrived. Idle hands are the devil’s playground, indeed.

Keller’s rearranging of the garage definitely helps streamline things a tad. All the fluids are kept in the same corner now, and the workbenches and toolboxes are all lined up together. Even if it’s not totally up to Feng Shui standards, it certainly looks cleaner, so nobody’s complaining. Here’s a couple shots:

On the fabrication side, Craig wasn’t following in Keller’s footsteps. After all, it might be a bit difficult to move CNC machines and massively large tables by himself, even with the forklift that hangs out over there. But arrangement wasn’t the main thing on fabrication’s collective mind today; all that mattered was getting back to work, and that’s what they did. Currently, AJ and Tom are putting the (almost) finishing touches on the welding for Project X. After that, there’s some paint and fitment left to do, and then it shall finally be revealed in all its glory. Here’s a closeup of Tom’s handiwork in action:

The end of 2010 looks to be a busy week for Fluid, indeed. We’ve got a lot on the dockets for both service and fabrication, so that means there will be plenty for folks to read on their weeklong breaks from the office. The main things coming up for fabrication are a C55 AMG midsection and a E36 3-series custom cold air intake, so there might even be a little bit of video, if we can finagle it.

We hope everybody had a safe and happy weekend, and we’re looking very forward to 2011. We’ve got a feeling that it’s going to be a good year.
