13 Oct From Silence To Violence: Blowing The BS
No, we didn’t get to Vegas any earlier, but the Black Series is going to be getting some twin-screw action very, very soon. So soon it’s already happening.
In-between the work being done on the BS exhaust and everything else going on around Fluid MotorUnion, there is still one piece left of the puzzle – the Weistec Stage 1+ supercharger kit. The main feature of the kit is the 2.3L twin-screw compressor module, which was big enough to need its own box. The other box consists of everything — literally everything — you’ll need to complete the installation, minus tools and elbow grease. The kit also arrived the same day as our Aquamist HFS3 water-methanol injection system. There were enough boxes that we needed to forklift them over from the other side. No use losing an employee from lifting a super-heavy box!
As we said, this is a complete kit. Very, very complete.
So we removed the BS’s face, figured out what the best first step was, and started work on prepping the body for the SC install.
One of the first steps was spacing out the subframe to accomodate the larger supercharger. The intake manifold is replaced, but the Weistec blower won’t fit in the exact same spaces (mostly due to the high amount of awesome contained in the blower over the stock manifold), so there had to be a bit of room made somewhere.
WIth that out of the way, the rest of the work commenced to lower the blower into the motor. If only we were talking about a lawnmower, that sentence’s rhyme structure would have been fantastic. But first, let’s admire the blower a bit more. It IS pretty, after all. Power isn’t always pretty, but Weistec makes it work better than anybody else.
And here it lies, in its final resting spot. The next time this blower sees action, it’ll be ready to hop on the dyno for some serious max power sessions.
As always, we’re working extra hard to get this car put together, as SEMA’s date isn’t getting any farther away. Keep your eyes peeled to the blog as we continue to discuss the supercharger install, along with the final headers post and more on the rest of the exhaust!
