Epic BMW Rally Story

Epic BMW Rally Story

I ran across this story at Jalopnik and have to spread as much love as I can.

Short story is Bill Caswell from Chicago found a loophole in the FIA rules that let him enter his 1991 318, which he found for $500 on craigslist, with the big dogs.  He raced in the WRC Mexico Rally and took 3rd in his class.  It certainly demonstrates the diverse prowess of both the car and the driver.

BMW Win.

Check out the latest issue of Grassroots Motorsports. They did a full feature on the car and more importantly the story.
