02 Sep Drop ‘Em
The only thing that’s not dropping around the shop right now is the temperature. Holy hell, it’s hot.
The first thing to drop today is this mysterious Z32. Where did it come from? Why is its front clip missing? Oh, wait. We have answers to both of those. Tom’s house, because it’s Tom’s Z32, and…well…okay, maybe we only have the answer to the first question. But Tom’s looking to do big things with his Z32 all in due time, so keep your eyes posted for more of this. He’ll be starting a build thread in StanceWorks at some point, too.
The next thing to drop is another front clip, but not a Nissan. It’s the RS6! The engine’s been dropped and the turbos removed for nefarious purposes. And by nefarious purposes, we mean replacement. We’re moving up to a bigger turbo that can reliably handle the pressures we need without causing four hundred headaches and three engine drops. However, the larger turbos mean some rearranging needs to take place, so that’s what we’re doing now.
By the way, have you ever looked at a billet compressor wheel without the housing on? It’s actually pretty beautiful.
Finally, the last thing being dropped is a super-high AFR, as OJ’s plowing his way through George’s 318. We’re in the final stages, with just the tuning left to go. Since we’re building the tune from scratch, a lot of work has been put in so far, but it keeps sounding better and better with each day. Video of this should be coming quite soon. Before hat can happen, though, we’re waiting on a new seal for the timing chain cover. Everybody cross your fingers and hope it gets here today; we’re really itching to get the HD camera out.
Have a great Labor Day weekend, everybody!
