25 Apr Black And Blue
This blog title isn’t being used because Zac just got smacked in the head with an errant trunk arm. But that did totally happen fifteen seconds ago.
While the blog title does accurately represent what Zac’s forehead will look like in a little while, the title actually refers to the paint work we just finished up for a customer’s Chevy Trailblazer SS. In short, we painted the wheels a satin black, and we also painted his calipers blue, along with a couple other pieces here and there. First, here are the wheels just rolling out of paint:
We also painted his front bumper’s trim to match the rest of the front fascia:
And here are the calipers, freshly reinstalled on the car after a brake bleeding. Unlike other shops, which tend to leave your calipers bolted onto your car while they overspray all over your suspension components, we remove each caliper from the car, prep it for paint and then paint it. It helps the paint last longer and adhere to the calipers better, plus you don’t have to worry about the calipers being sprayed near any other component of your car, especially the exterior paint.
He also had some wheel locks put on at the end, because you can never be too careful when it comes to keeping your wheels safe, whether or not they’re OEM. These are black as well to match the wheels, but sometimes they can be a bit unsightly on a set of nice wheels. Despite that, better safe than sorry! Either way, here are the wheels and calipers on the car now that we’re finished putting everything back together:
And here are the front trim pieces back on the car as well. The foglight covers turned out nicely, as did the center portion of the grill.
See you tomorrow!
