08 Jun An Inside Job
Today seems like a good week to show off what’s going on with our project cars. So, to cap off the week, let’s continue that trend.
Last time we left the Genesis, it was awaiting its pearl coat, followed by the matte topcoat to finalize everything. This was the last shot we took of it in the paint booth…
And that’s the most you’ll see of it until we’re ready to show it off in its final form. In the meantime, it’s creeping in the dark corners of the FMU garage, waiting for the right time to strike!
But don’t think it’s ready just yet. There’s still a few things left to do…like reattach everything. We also refreshed the foglight and tail light tint, buffed the front headlights and finished spraying the shark fin antenna. Pieces are coming together, so we should be back in fighting form soon! Well, as soon as the equal length manifold comes back from Swain Tech.
Over on…actually, this is within five feet of the Genesis, so it’s not really “over” anywhere. Allow us to rephrase — turning your head slightly within the paint and body shop, you’ll see our 335i. The fenders and rear bumper will be getting a little bit of a freshening up, as they’ve got some battle scars from the tight fitment we’ve been running in the rear. We’ll have more on this job soon, but in the meantime let’s just remark on how dirty this car looks from these angles. Yep, it’s dirty. In both the good and bad ways.
See you next week!
