01 Jun A Shade of Gray
If you caught our last blog post you would know that a customer of ours brought in his Suzuki GSX-R600 to be freshened up a bit, today The other day we focused on the overall design of the exhaust, from start to finish. Today, we would like to go over what was done with the bodywork to not only make the bike look newer and cleaner, but also a bit more aggressive.
As mentioned before, we managed to strip the entire bike before proceeding with the exhaust and body work thus revealing a pretty aggressive looking frame.
Once the bike was stripped of all fairings we began sanding down and smoothing out all panels in order to get the bike ready for paint.
Once all of the fairings were sanded down we sprayed on some primer and finished all necessary bodywork. Before tossing them back in the booth we fitted them to the bike to make sure that the exhaust fitment was where we wanted it to be; so far, so good.
Once all was approved on exhaust design and the body work was complete, everything was tossed back into booth. Including a last minute decision to respray the calipers!
Most customers of ours trust our opinion greatly so occasionally we’ll be given free-reign on key decision making. In this case, we were given the torch so we were very adamant that we exceed our customers expectations. With that said, we decided on a bit of an off gray that literally changes its tone when you look at it in different light or from a different angle. This color, coupled with some black accents, and a bizarre caliper color was exactly what we were looking for.
Once the panels were sprayed and exhaust fitted, we began assembly.
All in all, we are extremely pleased with how this bike turned out and judging by his reaction, I think we were able to achieve exactly what our client was looking for without going overboard. Thanks again for reading, and we’ll see you again on Monday!
