02 Dec No Shave November Comes To A Close
The arrival of the barber at Fluid MotorUnion could mean only one thing – No Shave November is finally over.
It was a long and arduous journey, that much is for certain. Although, with the incoming cold weather, having a beard to block some of the chilly post-Thanksgiving air is never a bad thing. Over the past month, some of us started the growing season late, some of us ducked out before the end of the month, and some of us didn’t participate at all. Either way, Marilynn was cool enough to bring in a barber to deal with our overgrowth, and for that we thank her.
Zach’s beard grew in great, although we’re pretty sure he had some help from trimmers during the past couple weeks. Either way, he was one of three to actually follow through with the entire monthlong beard grow:
Keller, if you remember, shaved his beard halfway through the month. Since he’s got a good sense of community, though, he jumped right back into the fray. He’s got determination, though, so it didn’t take long to grow back:
Eastway’s beard just kept on growing, but his sideburns really got out of control. They started growing out directly sideways, giving him a very Civil War-era look. Since he’s a big fan of winter beards, he’s keeping his for December, as well:
Mike Marzano quit about a week before the end of the month. What a killjoy:
OJ, the main driving force behind No Shave November, wasn’t pleased with the way his beard (or sideburns) grew in, but damn it, he’s a contender, so he stuck with it until the end as well:
Craig’s beard really just exists. There is no beginning or end to it; it was there before No Shave November, and it’ll be there until 2015. His main competition was with Jade, as they’re both pretty damn scruffy. As a side note, we can’t really tell whose face is more serious in this picture:
Here’s Luci getting his hair cut from our one-day, in-house barber. He didn’t participate in No Shave November, but who’s going to turn down a haircut? We all need ’em:
In the end, with the exception of Luci, only three of the guys got their hairs cut and their beards trimmed: Zach, OJ and Keller. Here they are, attempting to be serious after their run-in with the scissors and trimmer, some of them ending up looking more serious than others:
No more pictures of facial hair for 2010. We promise. 2011? That’s a different story.
