AP Racing Dominates

AP Racing Dominates

Fluid MotorUnion is a proud vendor of AP Racing’s brake packages. In a world dominated by Brembo, Endless and others, it takes a lot to stand out from the crowd. AP Racing definitely works itself to the bone to differentiate itself from the crowd, and some of their numbers do most of the speaking.

When it comes to noticing AP Racing’s domination of higher-end brakes, all one needs to do is look at TopGear’s Test Track board. Currently, the top car on the board is the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, which has AP Racing brakes on all four corners, helping the car slow down and glide effortlessly through the Hammerhead, Gambon, and the other notoriously named turns. Out of the top ten cars on TopGear’s Test Track, 8 of those cars utilize AP Racing brakes. This includes, but is not limited to, the Ascari A10, Pagani Zonda F Roadster, Caterham R500 and the Bugatti Veyron.

Their domination isn’t limited to road-going supercars, either. They have a significant amount of racing pedigree, as well. Their brakes are featured on Ferrari’s American LeMans Series (ALMS) race cars, as well as BMW’s ALMS team. As a matter of fact, the top 10 finishers of this last ALMS race all sported AP Racing brakes, clutches, or both. Furthermore, for a few more bragging rights, AP Racing brakes, clutches or both have been on every Formula 1 Championship car since 1967. They sure have their stuff together, it would seem.

Don’t think that they only do work with crazy fast (and crazy expensive) cars, either. Truckin’ Magazine recently tested an AP Racing brake setup on the track with a GMC Sierra, and found that the stopping distance from 80mph was shortened by 144 feet over the stock brake setup., for a total braking distance decrease of around 35%. That’s an absolutely ludicrous number.
