15 Oct More Teasing: Project X
You might see the following pictures and remember a small teaser we ran a couple weeks ago. Well, we’ve been busy, but not so busy that we haven’t been banging away at this X5, getting things done piece by piece.
The piece that we’ve completed this week is a lift kit. It’s made in two pieces to deal with fitment issues regarding the airbags in the rear. With this design, it will be a straight bolt-on lift kit that raises the X5 by 1.5″ in both the front and rear. Here’s some shots of our first set, followed by pre-fitment pictures, to give you an idea of the height we’re already working with (since clearances changed when we added those crazy tires):
Just wait until the snow falls.

Posted at 11:00h, 06 OctoberI agree with Ryan, glad someone stepped up and did this. I’ve tried searching on the net in the past for lifted X5’s and none came up. I will do this to my parent’s X5 someday ahahaha. Can’t wait to see how this turns out!!

Our lift kit for the E53 only raises it about two inches, and only works on X5s with the airbag suspension in the rear.
