Same BMW time, same BMW channel. Despite only 24 hours going by, 1/3 of which were spent sleeping, we’ve made great progress on Eric’s exhaust.

The following picture was the last one taken by your narrator yesterday. As you can see, the pipes are still taped (the precursor to tacking) and being fitted correctly and accounting for any clearance issues that might arise.

By the time picture taking resumed today, we managed to tack, re-fit the pipes, and weld them together.

And what do you know, they fit great!

So now, we’re setting about getting the X-pipe connected to some more piping and put in its proper place. As always, welding takes up a good chunk of the time spent on any exhaust, but it’s definitely time well spent, given the results.

Just like the pipes leading from the headers, first time’s a charm for the X-pipe placement and test-fitting.
