01 Jul Blue Jay Way
Today, we bid farewell to an M3 convertible we’ve come to know quite well. But rest assured, Jay’s probably very, very happy to have ‘er back.
This is Jay’s E46 M3 convertible. This time around, it entered the shop for a few fixes and upgrades. Among them was a re-spray of the front fenders, a new Vorsteiner VCSL front bumper, late-model E46 M3 tail lights, some additional gauges and some small maintenance-related jobs. Of course, one last thing had to be done before it left. Just before leaving, Jay brought his summer wheels and tires. Which is a good thing, because Blizzaks don’t function so well in June, so we slapped them on for him, and a few minutes later he was ready to tackle the road in all his boosted glory. And the DPE’s definitely look nice contrasted against the rest of the body.
Hopefully we’ll be seeing him at MotorUnion in August, tearing up the track and proving to everybody that convertibles aren’t just for hairdressers and men with toupees looking to create a humorous situation.
It’s a shame to see cars leave our campus. But then again, that means they’re guaranteed to be in a better condition then when they arrived. When you think about it that way, it’s a good thing. Change is inevitable, and change for the better is all anybody can hope for.
Have a Happy Fourth of July, everybody. Drive safely this weekend; see you all Tuesday!
