01 Mar Forward, March!
It’s the first day of March, and it’s warm enough to go outside without a coat! What sort of alternate universe have we stepped into?
After checking the weather reports for this coming week, and seeing plenty more snow heading our way, we all breathed a collective sigh of relief. Thank goodness we’re still in Chicago. After all, only 28 inches of snow in February? Pff. Bring it on.
But anyways, we digress. Today’s post isn’t going to be very large, as we are all over the shop getting various things done, but suffice to say, everything is still moving along. We’re finished with another piece for the E46 M3 velocity stacks, which is pictured below. We won’t say what it is just yet, but it’s going to be leaps and bounds above our last velocity stack setup. Yes, the last one was carbon fiber and that’s all very impressive, but once you see the intricacy of AJ’s design work on the new set, you’ll forget any other velocity stack setup even exists:
We’ve also finally installed the STANCE coilovers on the Porsche 997 Carrera Cabriolet. The height isn’t yet where we want it, and the camber and damper settings need to be adjusted, but here’s a small teaser as to what’s coming up:
Finally, another box from the aforementioned Octopus-branded suspension company arrived today for a Mistubishi Evo 8 that we’ve got at the shop. This should be a quick and fun installation to move the already-rally-bred Evolution another step towards complete AWD domination:
One last thing — If you’re in the Chicagoland area this weekend, you’ve got a chance to come out and see some of the Fluid MotorUnion crew at the Tuner Galleria. It’s taking place this coming Saturday, March 5th, at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL. Tickets are priced fairly, especially with the whole boatload of stuff they’re going to have there. And seriously, who doesn’t want to see R/C drift cars? Check it out at the link here. We hope to see you there, as you’ll get a chance to see Dick Cook’s bagged E46 M3 (with the new velocity stack setup), the X5 and Marilynn’s M45 (which we haven’t shown to the public yet). It should be a blast!
