04 Feb Fireball Friday
And now, the moment you’ve been waiting for, Project X, live and in stereo.
This video just basically serves to display just how awesome Project X has become. We gave it a quasi-two-step launch control, which delays the spark such that combustion takes place inside the exhaust system. In layman’s terms, this means controlled fireball expulsion. Don’t worry, we’ve set it so that it won’t be going off while driving down the street, it’s just for sitting still and causing some mayhem. We hope you enjoy the video! We certainly enjoyed filming it. And be sure to look out for a full feature on the X5 once we release it to the masses.
Edit from the No-Fun Patrol: This is definitely, definitely for off-road use only. This thing doesn’t even have a license plate yet, so we’re fine, but don’t go 2-stepping your way down the freeway.

Posted at 10:31h, 07 FebruaryNot every situation requires a strict adherence to the “function over form” mentality. In the case of the installed launch control on the X5, yes, perhaps the install in question doesn’t provide a distinct advantage on the road. But, that being said, we are not simply about making something look nice; it’s an attitude, a complete means of expression. The fireball launching on the X5 serves to further bolster this car’s “all-out urban warfare” style. What better way to encompass the idea of urban warfare than a German-inspired military design that shoots fireballs and can (probably) drive through several walls of sheet rock?

Posted at 14:26h, 13 DecemberCan you guys elaborate more on how you cut the spark? There’s no off-the-shelf 2 step box for this application that I know of (N2MB, Bee*R). I’m looking to do something like this for my M62 E39 (similar application to the E53). Perhaps email me if you don’t want to go that public.
Thanks!
