Cars From Here, Cars From There…

…Cars from just about everywhere end up at Fluid. Yesterday, we had two completely different yet totally great vehicles roll through Plainfield for some maintenance.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 is a good example of beefy, polygonal American style. Not only is it powered by a Hemi (a classic American engine if there ever was one), but it’s got a slew of performance upgrades under the SRT moniker, including Brembo brakes and Bilstein shocks on all four corners. With more than 400 horsepower on tap and four-wheel drive, it’s able to get up and go. Plus, you can drive it off road. Which is more than we can say about the other vehicle in this post.

It would probably be a good idea never to take this one off-roading. This Porsche 996 Turbo is quite the formidable beast. Boasting about 450 horsepower from an engine that’s in the trunk, this all wheel drive coupe is meant for one thing and one thing only — speed. Even standing still, it looks fast. The Germans, we’ve noticed, are quite good at making fast cars that look even faster. Either way, it was a pleasure having both these cars in for maintenance. We’re all car fanatics with different tastes here, but we can all agree upon the fact that big American muscle is getting better by the day, and the overall design of the 911 hasn’t changed in quite some time for a very good reason.

    Hi,

The 996 turbo is a all wheel drive (at least in europe it is). From the upper versions only the gt2 and gt3 were rear wheel drive.

Very nice jeep! Regarding the porsche…the 993 turbo was the true beast.

Congratulation for the shop/blog. Wish we has one of those in here!
